Day 76

Another cold, wet day. I went down to take the new employee pictures I had scheduled for today, but nobody wanted their picture taken. I couldn't blame them. The weather was horrible. Lots of people had wet hair, soggy clothes, or both. I managed to get a few good "people at work" shots in the exam rooms, but I'll just have to come back on a nicer day for the rest.

I hope the weather clears up later in the week, because I have two more photo shoots scheduled. This is the worst Winter I can remember. There hasn't been much snow, but it's certainly been cold and the rain has been relentless. They say all the wet weather we've been having will make the wildflowers exceptionally nice when they start to bloom toward the end of the month. I'm sure this is true, but it's hard to believe that anything is going to bloom now.

Rainy days are always a good time to discover new things on the Internet, so I guess it's as good a time as any to admit I'm becoming hooked on Entrecard. I know the Technorati crowd thinks Entrecard is just for beginning bloggers and Mommy Blogs, but I think it's fun. I'm not much of a gamer and virtual worlds like Second Life were never that enjoyable to me. Entrecard does function a bit like a virtual world, but one that is more familiar to me: the world of business. Dropping on people's Entrecard widget is like the new business calls we all make. If you keep calling, eventually someone notices. Dropping is a bit mindless, but it reminds me of the persistence that it takes to make any business a success. If you want something more imaginative, you can always try the Entrecard Marketplace. I even signed up for the New Marketplace that is supposed to be modeled after Craigslist. We'll see how this goes. Virtual business ideas, just like the real variety, don't always work.
