Day 574

I wrote a letter this morning to one of my relatives who still refuses to enter the electronic age. I think it's been several years since I actually wrote a letter on paper and took it to the post office. I wonder if non-bloggers understand how difficult it is to write a personal letter when you've already said everything you have to say. I used to write distant friends frequently, but I just don't see the point anymore. I wish everyone would just read the blog. That's really all there is anyway. If you blog for a long enough period of time, you come to realize that every thought you've ever had in your life will eventually wind up as a post. I keep telling people that everything they need to know is here, but there are still some folks who seem to think a vague, hand scrawled note in illegible handwriting is more personal.

I was going to learn how to use the GoPro camera today, but every time I picked up the instruction manual, I got a call from a client with a problem that needed to be fixed immediately. I did figure out how to put the battery in the camera and set the internal clock, but that was about it. The rest of the day was spent changing prices on websites, adding missing links, and printing promotional posters. Maybe tomorrow I'll try out the camera. It is amazingly small and light. I could probably even attach it to Dash's collar.

It's time for new blood work again. I stopped by my doctor just to make sure, and just like I expected, this was something I should have done last month. I doubt that much has changed from June to July, but I'll go ahead and make an appointment so I won't end up being three months late. I need to be fasting before these tests, so I need to pick a day when I'm not particularly hungry. You probably know by now that I hate to miss breakfast.

I got the electric bill today. It was twice as much as I paid in May. I really can't complain though. This is Texas in July. As long as the air conditioner keeps pumping out cool air, I'll be a happy camper.

  1. i get pretty annoyed with people who are on line, but say "oh, i don't read blogs." i'm sticking nearly everything that's important to me there, but these people still want a private note.

  2. Love the dalmation photos. Every time I see one I'm reminded of this one dalmation who used to say hello to me on the way to school.
