Day 139

When I was trying to set up an appointment with one of my client's marketing people this morning, I was told that "she no longer works here." "What about all the changes she wanted to make," I asked. "Oh, you don't need to worry about those anymore," I was told. I wasn't expecting this. Especially on a Monday. I guess every once in a while, we just get lucky.

Dash got lucky too. His dental appointment for tomorrow got postponed for a week or two because the vet had a family emergency. He still needs to have his teeth cleaned though. I probably need to visit the dentist myself. It's been way too long since I've had a checkup. I don't know why I hate going to the dentist so much. When I do go, it's usually pretty uneventful. Nevertheless, I'll use just about any excuse to postpone a dental visit. I'll tell myself that I already take good care of my teeth. I've used a lack of dental insurance as an excuse over and over again, even though dentists aren't nearly as expensive as most doctors. It's probably time to bite the bullet and go sit in the dentist chair again. I certainly don't want my teeth to start looking as bad as Dash's.

After almost a week of clear blue skies, the rains have returned. This meant that Dot spent most of the afternoon hiding under my desk and barking at thunderclaps. I tried to cheer her up by telling her how well the market did today, but the biggest one-day gain since February meant nothing to her.
