It would be great fun to write for a show like this, but I would have to go back in time myself to have a shot at something like that. It's certainly not impossible for advertising writers to make the transition to episodic television though. Come to think of it, Donald Bellisario, who was a creative director at the Bloom Agency in Dallas when I was a young writer there, went on to direct Magnum PI and Battlestar Galactica.
Although time travel and directing a hit TV show are nice fantasies, the realities of life are a little more down to earth. I went down to Unleashed this afternoon and finalized the details of our upcoming Mother's Day pet photography event. The holiday photo events are starting to become popular. Hopefully, by the time Christmas rolls around, they will become one of the Dalmatian Rescue group's best fundraisers.
My life as a pet photographer might not be as glamorous as that dashing new Dr. Who, but it certainly beats how I ended the day: temporarily plugging cracks in the shower tile grout with soap to keep the shower from leaking. You might think it would make more sense to just re-grout the entire shower stall. Probably so.
