I spent most of the morning trying to stuff tripods and light stands under the bed, putting winter coats back in the closet and trying to figure out whether the stacks of paper accumulating all over the office were junk mail or tax records. When I was younger, my house had an understated, zen like character. Now, it's just as messy and cluttered as my parent's house used to be. Try as I may, I just don't think I'm ever going to get the place looking like it belongs in Architectural Digest. There's always something more important to do.
Today's essential task was picking up the stray Dalmatian from Animal Control before his time was up. Some of these abandoned strays get put down in as little as three days after they arrive at the pound if a rescue group won't step forward and take them. This pup is going to get a second chance though. I did end up naming him "Smoky." He is a young, heavily spotted male who currently has heartworm and is very underweight. He'll be fine after we get him treated. It's amazing what a difference proper medical care and a good diet can make in just a few months. After he gets a little healthier, you'll probably see Smoky here on the blog.
