The Purple Martins returned to the park today. I've been watching them fight with the Sparrows for control of the Martin houses scattered through the park. Somehow, the Purple Martins always win this battle, but the sparrows aren't giving up easy. From what I've observed, the animal kingdom isn't any more peaceful than the human kingdom. At least the animals don't have guns.
I've been receiving a lot of requests lately from people who want to place "in-text" ads on my websites and blogs. The pitch is always the same. "Let us add a couple of carefully crafted linked sentences to your original content and we'll send you $50 via Paypal." I don't like these type of ads. They make it appear like you are actually endorsing their product instead of just running an ad for it. Hey, I'm an advertising person myself and realize that everything has its price. If I'm going to sell out though, it's going to take a lot more than $50. I wonder why these "in text" people don't want to run regular banner ads like you see on Google Adsense? My guess is that they've probably discovered being sneaky and deceptive works better for them.
I'm still trying to decide whether to sell my rental property or lease it out again after my current tenant moves out. I really don't enjoy being a landlord. On the other hand, the real estate market hasn't even started to bounce back yet. Decisions. Decisions.

I would take the $50 if it wasn't too sneaky. However, I got suckered for $60 on one of my blogs. I ran the ad and they never paid. Sigh.
